Prof. Dr Celina Nowak

General information

  • Prof. Dr Celina Nowak holds a Masters’ degree of the Warsaw University, a postgraduate diploma of the Université de Paris I – Panthéon–Sorbonne, a PhD (based on a thesis “Corruption in the Polish criminal law in the light of international instruments”) and habilitation in law of the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences (based on a book on the influence of globalisation on the Polish criminal law).
  • Secretary General of the European Law Research Association,
  • Member of the Board of Director of the International Association of Penal Law (AIDP).
  • Lecturer at the Kozminski University.

Research interest

Criminal law, comparative criminal law, international & transnational criminal law, European criminal law.

Additional information

Current research projects

  •  Controlling Illicit Trade of Tobacco in Era of Fast Change. Comparative law research project funded by the PMI Impact.
  • Compliance as a tool to prevent corruption.

Awards

  • First prize in the contest for the national best Ph.D thesis on law, organized by the legal review “Państwo i Prawo” (“Law and State”) (2008).
  • First prize in the national best Ph.D thesis contest: “Polish challenges: state – identity – progress”, category: “Functioning of the state and its institutions”, organized by the President of the Republic of Poland (2009).
