Call for papers to the special issue of the Archives of Criminology “Forced labour and child exploitation: Challenges, Perspective, and Social Context”
The special issue is edited by three distinguished guest editors – Prof. Zbigniew Lasocik (University of Warsaw, Poland), Prof. John Winterdyk (Mount Royal University, Canada) and Ph.D. Marcel Van der Watt (University of South Africa, South Africa).
We would like to invite authors whose research focuses on new developments in forced labour when it comes to issues including, but not limited to:
- national definitions, if any,
- penalisation of forced labour at the local level,
- utilisation of traditional methods of exploitation,
- new or mutating forms of exploitation and mechanisms to create dependency,
- legal and non-legal instruments imposed by the state to prevent forced labour,
- involvement of business in countering this phenomenon in its dealings,
- ideas and strategies to effectively combat forced labour,
- new programs and initiatives to better assist victims of labour exploitation,
- new methods and instruments to educate young people on forced labour.
There will be two steps of selection of papers to this issue. We invite expressions of interest (abstracts between 150 and 300 words) that should be submitted by 15 April 2020 through the online form. Selected authors will be invited to submit a paper by the end of August 2020 at the latest (using the journal’s on-line platform). All papers will be reviewed according to the journal’s policy and only papers with two positive reviews will be published in the journal.
Abstracts and papers should be submitted in English.
